Moving pets to Hong Kong

Importing pets into Hong Kong is considerably easier than importing them into other Asian countries.

Pets from Australia, New Zealand, UK and USA are readily accepted into Hong Kong provided that you can provide all of the necessary paperwork including your pet’s vaccination records and your pet is exempt from quarantine.  Please be aware that most Hong Kong accommodation is in flats/apartments and there may be rules about keeping pets in your apartment block, in particular dogs and cats.  Don’t forget to check the flat management rules and clarify any restrictions before signing a tenancy agreement.

Pets from other countries may need to undergo extensive quarantine periods lasting anything from 30 days to 6 months depending on your country of origin.
